Dear friends and delegates,
We look forward to seeing you in Vilnius and we attach the finalised programme for our meeting. Maria will also be posting some relevant documents on the website which you can download prior to that date. These relate to topics within the programme / provide a reminder of the membership/chairs of the sub-specialty groups.
Last year delegates made it clear they would like an update of UEMS ‘Business’ and thus there are papers relating to issues that have arisen over the year (UEMS sub-accounts , Proposed European Syllabus in Aesthetic Medicine, CEN 403, New UEMS website, Updating Chapter 6, UEMS position on Professional Qualification Directive). Some of these papers are simply for information and some may help inform debate when these topics are discussed during our programme.
You will see that much of the time in Vilnius is devoted to the sub-specialty groups continuing / possibly completing the work they have undertaken over the year (this may be true for Head & Neck , Phoniatrics , Audiology/Vestibulology and Paediatrics as we know those groups have been active over the year.). The other groups may need to spend the time discussing whether they believe the planned work is desirable / feasible. Whatever the outcome we would ask the relevant chairs of the groups to present their conclusions at the end of day session to all delegates.
If any chairs are NOT coming to Vilnius we would be grateful if they could make contact with an appropriate member of the sub-specialty group asking them to deputise as ‘acting chair’ for the meeting. If any delegates (new or existing) do not see their name within the membership of any of the sub-goups , please contact Maria as soon as possible informing her of which group they would like to join (if at all possible , please consider joining the Facial Plastic or Phoniatric groups as these are the groups with the smallest memberships).
